American Apparel Ad Campaign Spring/Summer 2010 (Japan) - NOT HOT
The Essentialist hereby announces 2010 the year when all sorts of porn-like fashion endeavors and porn-oriented douchebags won't be cool anymore.
Towards the end of 2009 we'd grown tired of the overwhelming trend that saw Terry Richardsons, Dov Charneys and Olivier Zahms of this world substituting all sorts of esthetics with only one - imported from their bedrooms.
Celebrating tits and a pussy was cool for a while but has since somewhat worn out. Yeah, the girls are sexy. The T-shirts fit like nothing else out there. The brand remains fresh and juicy.
At the end of the day, however, it all comes down to one thing: you look at the underaged AA cashier-turned-model, then you look at her boss, and you kind of don't like yourself for having just purchased that magazine.
The next step is regretting to have purchased that T-shirt.
