MTV New Logo - SHIT HAPPENS


MTV is dead.

In fact it died a long time ago and it was just a little more dead every year as time went by.

Today, however, MTV's rotten corpse turned even more stinky, so much that the few dinosaurs left aimlessly drifting afloat puddles of melancholy and yearning for music television era have finally deserted the room.

After 29 years in office, old MTV logo ceases to exist. Rarely in branding history letting two simple words go from beneath the actual logo has meant so much. It is no music anymore. It's Snookie time.

Tina Exarhos, a spokesperson for MTV's marketing team, explained the change to The New York Daily News: "If you watch the channel, you've seen that it's definitely going in a new direction. We really wanted to see the logo featured in a new way, and this was really meant to be able to house all the great things that are happening at MTV at any given time."

You bet new direction.

According to Ad Age, MTV is looking into developing a new tagline to match its new logo.
